Taunton Deane MP Rebecca Pow paid a visit to Pritex’s Wellington factory last week.
Ms. Pow was given a tour of the manufacturing site by Managing Director, Gareth Jones and Operations Director Andrew Stenning during which she was given access to the acoustics laboratory to see the unique test facilities.
Mr. Jones said: “We were delighted to welcome Ms. Pow to the site to meet our staff, give her an insight into our business and also outline our plans for the future.
We manufacture and supply innovative thermo-acoustic insulating solutions to highly regulated industries where test and validation protocols are an important part of the sales process. Therefore, we were very pleased to demonstrate how we use our technical expertise to win new business with customers such as McLaren, Aston Martin and Nissan.”
As a member of the EFRA Select Committee, Ms. Pow was particularly interested to learn how Pritex has reduced its waste to landfill by 12% over the last 12 months. Pritex are accredited to the international environmental management system ISO 14001 which commits the company to reducing its environmental impact, as well as reducing costs associated with waste management.
Ms Pow also had the opportunity to meet members of staff including Andy Hawkins who has worked for the acoustics specialist for nearly 50 years.
Commenting on her visit, Rebecca said “Pritex is a highly specialist company producing cutting edge thermo-acoustic insulation products for the car industry. They are also demonstrating that it is possible to develop a thriving business and be environmentally sustainable. I look forward to supporting them in the future as they continue to grow and play an increasingly important role in Taunton Deane.”
